I have deleted those requests without layers now manually. There is a check that removes layers that don't make any sense, and although i think that I got it right (it won't save a request that has no valid layers attached at all), there's always the possibility that something went wrong. Although during the hardware troubles of the last few days (the network attached disk was acting up) mysql and the upload processor were killed brutally quite a few times. This might have left a few requests in an inconsistent state too, I'd think.
