Weird. > Ed, that file size is about right for a tiles of that complexity. Errors when uploading complex tiles was one of the problems I had under windows that I never got to the bottom of. At the time I thought it may have been due to the throttling my isp does to my upload speed although since then I have not had the same problem under linux on the same connection.
