Very unlikely. My understanding of a proxy is that the server would then
see the IP of the proxy. It does not. The server gets my external IP.

Another idea: I noticed that after hours the tile was rendered by
another client. What is the server-reaction if I try to upload a tile
that the server has already assigned to
a different client? Will it return an error?
An exit of the script or unhandled exception might result in a 500
error, right?

I double-checked my setup. svn st -u shows no modifications. I don't see
a reason why it might be a client side problem.
It worked fine for weeks then suddenly stopped working.

Funny thing: A minute ago I tried it again, now it uploaded. Don't know
what happens with the outdated files on the server. To be on the safe
side I requested a rerender of the affected tile. The server does not
show pending requests for my client so I delete the other zips from the
upload directory.

Conclusion: Sporadic problem. Failed without user interaction and
repaired itself without my intervention. Never mind. I'll keep an eye on it.
