A new version of Trapi is in svn. It includes some fairly major changes. * Common tag keys, values and roles are stored as a variable-lenght code. * Multiple common-tags files can be used, allowing migration to a new one. * Supports old database format, and converts as tiles are garbage-collected. * Fix for bug creating broken tiles * Easier to write code to read a Trapi database. This still needs documented. * Code Cleanup
Due to the broken tiles, I recomend a complete database reload. The old version would silently omit a way on each broken tile, the new version will die when the broken tile is encountered. The new version does use more memory. The tag compression saves about 2.5 gigabytes, so a complete Trapi database is about 16 Gigabytes now. (That is about the same size the old format was 6 weeks ago.) The space savings will be more if tags are not filtered and the common-tags file is rebuilt. -- Blars Blarson [email protected] With Microsoft, failure is not an option. It is a standard feature. _______________________________________________ Tilesathome mailing list [email protected] http://lists.openstreetmap.org/listinfo/tilesathome
