Hi, since the client has somewhat stabilized, I would like to propose a change in the client update management. I believe we are at a point where it can be packaged so it can be put into the repositories of linux distributions, or into a windows installer. Unfortunately neither is in my area of expertise.
I'm suggesting this anyway, because * several users are not happy about having a software that does svn updates on its own from a basically open repository. * packaging it has the advantage of being able to clearly state dependencies (at least on *nix systems) including fonts. Of course the client would still need to periodically check for osmarender style updates and so forth. We then only need some sort of check that the client is intact (i.e. not damaged, not user modified to skip z17 to work faster, or abusing the server queues etc.) -- Dirk-Lüder "Deelkar" Kreie Bremen - 53.0901°N 8.7868°E
