Hi Normand: There's a couple of important differences between the M12+T and the UT+ units and one's the clock speed. The M12+T has a standard deviation due to the saw tooth error of about 9 ns whereas the UT+ has about 50 ns. Since there are about 24 GPS satellites in orbit and the Earth blocks you view of about half of them a 12 channel receiver has a channel available for each one. But the older UT+ receivers have only 8 channels and so sometimes keep tracking a sat that's much lower in elevation than another because of lack of channels.
