Does anyone have information on the Symmetricom GPS 1100 / Telecom Solutions CellSync 1100 T1 GPS timing receiver such as operating instructions, command syntax, and specs?
I couldn't find anything on it using a web search. I've seen several on the market in the past few years. The unit was built in the late 1990's and has an international flavor--the main PCB was made in the USA, the GPS receiver was made in England, and the ovenized crystal oscillator was made in Russia. Here is more information to help identify it: The cabinet is 19" wide x 2" high x 7" deep. All connectors are on the front panel, including 9-pin DE-9 for primary and secondary T1 in and out, alarms, and comm. The GPS RF input is a TNC connector, while the 10 MHz output is a BNC. The -48 V power is applied to screw terminals. There are LED's for DS1/P, DS1/S, BYPASS, MAJ, GPS, and MIN. There is an eight-position DIP switch on the front panel. Inside, the main PCB is 6" x 16" and is labeled "Telecom Solutions CellSync 1100 Made in USA". It has a lot of large chips, including a Motorola MC68EC020 CPU and an MC68882 FPU. Mounted on the main PCB is a 20 MHz Morion type 21-105 ovenized crystal oscillator. It was made in St. Petersberg, Russia. It is interesting that a 20 MHz oscillator is used instead of the typical 10 MHz one for high-precision work. The GPS receiver module is 3-3/4" x 2-3/4" x 1/2" thick and has several labels: "Navstar NAV176-108-AW-02B" "A176-017G2 XR6 Rx Ext Clock Completed" "Made in England" Any information on the Symmetricom, the GPS receiver, or the ovenized oscillator would be appreciated.
