Hi Randy, Thank you very much for your kind offer of help. I haven't been trying to ignore it, but have been a bit tied up lately.
Briefly I bought a pair of Lucent RFTG-m-XO & RB units on Ebay. The XO unit uses a Motorola VP GPS receiver. My receiver seemed to work fine when installed in a "dumb" test board (the TAC-2 from TAPR), but was a disaster when plugged into the XO unit. I was unable to exactly repeat the problems, making trouble shooting difficult. Also NO info is available on the RFTG units as far as us Time-Nuts know. I believe the GPS receiver is OK & the problem resides in the XO units hardware or firmware. The XO unit would often report NO GPS, while I could plainly see it was tracking numerous satellites OK using TAC32 connected to the receivers data output port. It would also go into fault occasionally. Anyhow I bought another XO unit and received it yesterday. It is working fine!!! I may go back & try & isolate the problem in the old XO unit. I'm a little nervous about swapping boards between the 2 units, don't want to mess up the good ones ($180 on Ebay). Thanks again for your offer of help!! I'm no longer with Synergy and I don't think they will ever do it. You should email: [EMAIL PROTECTED] and request the VP Command Reference in case you don't have it. If you can explain your problems I might still be able to help. Randy ----- Original Message ----- From: "Robert E.
