I just got a Mini Circuits power meter, the PWR-6G+, which is good to 6 GHz, -30 dBm to +20dBm. It hooks up by USB and is only $695. Very cool device, and quite accurate from what I can tell. It's a nice small package, just a sensor head with USB cable.
My only complaint is that I can't find Linux drivers for it. Looks like they use this chip: http://www.delcom-eng.com/DelcomCD/USBChips/USBChips.htm So maybe it wouldn't be hard to talk to it.
