Hi

Back in the dark ages the 2N3866, 2N5109 , and MRF581(A) all made pretty good
common base / medium power buffer amps to drive mixers with. The parts will run
> 1 W dissipation, and > 100 ma without much complaint. They are quiet enough
that most source's phase noise will not be impacted by them. All of these are
still out there, but they are getting into the "boutique transistor" category.

Is there anything out there that's still a mainstream (as in cheap) part that
would do as well? It's at the point that I need to renew the bench stock.
Doing that at ~$2 each is not the end of the world. Doing that at $2 when
there's a 20 cent alternative would be a bit silly...

Bob
