Moving beyond part 97 and ahead to some new potentially authorized applications. The FCC has mandated a narrowbanding initiative for land mobile frequencies from 150-512 MHz. This frees up 12.5 KHz bandwidth channels BETWEEN the current incumbent allocations. A frequency hopped technique could utilize the new blank spaces in the spectrum and create a new mode of multiple access service.
