No luck so far. I wired up an adapter and tried reading the Mostek
part as a 2764. All I got was zeros. I read that sometimes this is
due
to not enough power to read the old parts, so I plugged a wall wart
into my programmer for extra juice (it's USB powered normally). This
didn't help. I guess I'll have to wait until I get a proper
definition
for the software to read this part.
Check if the MK36* need more than a single +5V supply... Old EPROMS
usually needed two or even three different supplies.

The Motorola MCM68766 is listed as a direct pip-for-pin replacement for the
Mostek device. If your programmer can handle the Motorola part, you should
be able to read the Mostek devices and write the data into a Motorola part.
I bought a supply of the MCM68766 EPROMs a few years ago (Ebay), and still
have a few. Jameco used to stock them, but apparently, no longer.
I checked Ebay just now... there are several vendors selling them. One
vendor is offerring ten in a package deal for $20 + S/H (Item #
350344738234).
