If you have all the required h/w including HP GPIB card & signal analyzer.. & a PC with ISA slots.
The original HP 3048A s/w still works very reliably in windows XP on a core2duo. WIndows XP (onwards) enforced the direct h/w access rules. To make this work you need a wrapper program to handle task access to memory/IO-space. This is not free but it does work. http://www.direct-io.com/ Have also used this to successfully demonstrate legacy QB45 (HPIB libs) s/w that used ISA GPIB (direct mem access), ISA PIO & serial port (i/o space). Biggest weakness with original 3048 is the slow signal analyzer.
