I believe that all of those microwave brick oscillators use SRDs, 73 -

Other strategies for making or locking to microwave signals are:
"sampling phase detector", which I believe is a mixer made with SRDs.
There's also subharmonic mixers (same thing, probably).. they're used a
lot in antenna ranges.
