The GPRMC sentence is supported on all the GPS modules that I have. The GPZDA sentence is the best time/date sentence to use if your receiver supports it. It just has date/time info and is usually optimized for the best timing performance.
Note that for best accuracy you need to adjust the arrival time of the sentence to the time encoded in the message. For a lot of GPS modules this can be 200-300 msecs. Lady Heather has code for adjusting for the time difference. Different time offsets are automatically selected depending upon the detected receiver type or you can specify the value to use. Most NMEA receivers are rather generic and not easily distinguisable, so the default value may not be the best. _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe, go to http://lists.febo.com/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts_lists.febo.com and follow the instructions there.
