A strip of lightweight paper could be drawn through the device and the spark would puncture the paper at even time intervals. The paper is then attached to the mass being accelerated and provides a means of measuring displacement vs. time. Used a lot in lower level physics labs when teaching laws of motion. Now we just have fast cameras or direct measurement of acceleration and velocity. -- Brian Lloyd 706 Flightline Spring Branch, TX 78070 [email protected] +1.210.802-8FLY (1.210.802-8359) _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe, go to http://lists.febo.com/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts_lists.febo.com and follow the instructions there.
