Its possible. Incidentally some of the "old" units have issues but can be fixed as others have found. Still on the hunt for a Rb lamp with or without the casing, as I can probably make use of it even if low voltage as a magnetic sensor or other high tech projects even if no good for a clock. It would help if the metal lamp casing was physically intact but with all the outer bits removed as I probably don't need this due to having a lot of other parts incl the expensive double oven oscillator. Would also make one nerdy case light with an IR filter added.
