The first is that not all mail software has the same UI and this list has a wide collection of people running a wide collection of software. (Ctrl-R on mine doesn't do anything.) The second is that not all mailing lists do the same thing. The headers of Don's message (when it got here) include: Reply-to: Discussion of precise time and frequency measurement <[email protected]> Sender: "time-nuts" <[email protected]> From: Don Lewis <[email protected]> So Replying only to the Sender will go to the whole list. Or maybe not, depending on what your software thinks "Sender" means. There is another worm is this corner of the can. Some anti-spam measures allow systems to say "our mail only comes from these IP Addresses: ..." That broke most mailing list software. Some list software will change the From on mail from those systems to something like: Taka Kamiya via time-nuts <[email protected]> So even if your mail software thinks that Sender means From or has a shortcut to reply to the From and that does what you want when you check carefully, it may not work right the next time you try it. -- These are my opinions. I hate spam. _______________________________________________ time-nuts mailing list -- [email protected] To unsubscribe, go to http://lists.febo.com/mailman/listinfo/time-nuts_lists.febo.com and follow the instructions there.
