As long as we're making a wish list, possibly a counter-suggestion:

The y axis should show not the absolute value of the offset, but show
the offset as both above and below zero.

(Yes, this is contradictory to the log-offset request in the simplest
sense, but there are variations that make some smart decisions to
to both log and plus/zero/minus at the same time by making the area
around zero be linear.)
