Does the pool look favorably on members with dynamic IP addresses but static hostnames? At home I have a cable connection whose address changes every few weeks, but I maintain a static hostname for it.
I know that one can add a new server to the pool via a hostname, but info such as statistics is pulled up via an IP address; is the hostname re-resolved every so often, or is it resolved once during a server add? How does ntpd treat configured server hostnames? -- does it attempt to re-resolve them ever, or just once at startup? -- Philip
