Hello,

With a Garmin GPS 18 LVC on the way I am 99% aware of the hardware that
is needed to get the GPS going.

On the software side I saw that there are a few driver options.

- A shared memory driver method (Address: 127.127.28.u), documented at
http://time.qnan.org/
- PPS Clock Discipline (Address: 127.127.22.u)
- Generic NMEA GPS Receiver (Address: 127.127.20.u)

Maybe there are more

Which way is the preferred one?
Which works best or well enough?
Which requires patches to my Linux 2.6.x system? (PPS, others?)

My expertise in the ntp area is rather limited so maybe some of you can
comment on these issues and give some advice?

Kind regards,
Udo
