-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I'm trying to reorganize the upstream servers I use since they seem to fluctuate a lot recently. Usually this is a very tedius task of adding a new st1 server, restarting ntpd (I can't get auth to work locally so I can make runtime changes for some reason), letting it run for a day or so, checking it, and then repeating. I can't try using ntpq on them since they're tied to a real source it's always going to have an offset of 0. Are there commands that can poll the time from an arbitrary server and compare it to yours? Or is there any info on how to setup localhost auth so I can at least add and remove peers from a running server? I seem to recall finding a link at one point that went into more details about choosing good upstream servers aside from the more generalized information on www.pool.ntp.org pages.
