I just found out that my provider runs a stratum 4 ntp server on their mailserver. It is just as good as their stratum 1 servers and it sure beats using a stratum 1 global pool server or any far away stratum 1 server. So you may want to try your ISP mailserver, ftp server, pop server, news server, etc. as well to find a very reliable source of time. This is good news, it shows that some providers DO care. ;-) In this scenario (obviously it is intended for their customer use), I would encourage you to use your ISP higher stratum servers to be a good net citizen. This is what I will do. remote refid st t when poll reach delay offset jitter ============================================================================== 206.47.60.230 206.47.60.179 4 u 459 1024 377 0.440 0.107 0.460 Louis http://blogtech.oc9.com _______________________________________________ timekeepers mailing list [email protected] https://fortytwo.ch/mailman/cgi-bin/listinfo/timekeepers
