My server has been up and on the pool for a couple of weeks. I have
observed an increase in traffic and my ntp IP is getting around 1
million packets a day in and out. I have been reading the archives and
see that people are able to analyze traffic. The archives pointed me to
a site that had a set of script ntp_client, etc. which I attempted to
use. The instructions simply didn't work. Without going into tedious
detail about the specific errors, let me just say that the files it
should have created such as:ntp_stats.dump weren't created. The log
files were but no dump file. The cron jobs that should have created the
archinves just threw flock errors. The log files contained those error
messages. I came to the conclusion that this set of scripts don't work,
at least on my server.

So, let me update the original query. Is there a source for reliable
tools to track my server?

Thanks,
Bob Walter
