Supersmall, and the ide connector can be used for a ide -> cf adapter (although 44-pin ide compatible cf adapters are a bit hard to find). For a pure ntp refclock probably overkill (since you mention soekris). Maybe usable as complete pool ntp server. I recently used the alix.1c in a project which uses a really small amount of power (12V 420mA).
