for office and conservatives were calling him a draft dodger, the
liberals said it didn't matter. Bill was running against a genuine war
hero, Bob Dole, but the media didn't have a problem with Bill going to
England to avoid the draft.</p>
<p>Now, eight years later, the shoe is on the other foot. John Kerry is
the war hero and all of a sudden, what do you know — service in
Viet Nam matters. The media is criticizing George W. Bush for serving
in the National Guard instead of waiting around to get drafted. As
soldiers are finding out today, when you're in the National Guard you
can get sent overseas at any minute.</p>
