Since we moved into our
first house, we decided we had to plant a garden this year. It's a
townhouse, so we only have a small area in the back along side the
fence, between the house and the garage.
We planted a few vegetables in May and they're doing surprisingly well. I had to cage the tomatoes because they were growing wild. The cucumber vines were choking off the peppers, so I cut them back a little. I didn't expect strawberries this year, but we're getting a few very small ones.
I'm not sure about the taste of these vegetables. The banana peppers aren't turning yellow like they're supposed to. We picked one tonight and it's still a little bitter, not sweet like it should be. Don't know if it's a lack of sunshine or a problem with the nutrients in the soil.
