Hi
A friend has written a music editing program and I use Timidity++ with
it - to play back the musical notation.

He has recently added a cursor to the program that follows the music as
it is played. He has provided a delay option to the cursor, to allow for
the time it takes for the sound fonts to load.

The time it takes Timidity to load the sound font varies from
arrangement to arrangement so I am finding that there is no convenient
value.

Is there some way for a 'headless' Timidity (eg alsa/pulse/jack
interface) to indicate when the first measure is being played - as is
used in the measure counter in the ncurses interface.

many thanks

David
