That's exactly what's needed :-) Unfortunately, --preserve-silence is not recognised in my TiMidity++ version 2.13.2 (debian stable). Is it known when --preserve-silence was introduced ? Regards, Peter Billam P.S. In the meantime, I have a work-around in place and working; on a channel (sync_cha) not present in the t_cha5.mid I add {'control_change', 1, sync_cha, 7, 0} -- Channel Volume = 0 {'note', 2, 1, sync_cha, 7, 1} -- Note Velocity = 1 right at the beginning, after the 'set_tempo'.
