So instead of a tun device with a ipaddress, you can plug tinc in a vde
(virtual switch).
This is so cool ;-)
I can't wait to start testing tinc version 1.1.
Is it compatible with version 1.0 ?

Add support for VDE through libvdeplug.
When compiled with vde/device.c, tinc will connect to a vde_switch instance
instead of using a tun/tap device.
Have a look at http://vde.sourceforge.net/. Basically, it makes it easy to
interconnect tinc with things that can also connect to VDE (like virtual
machines).
