Afaik this is related to Debian having changed the way it starts it's init-script services from Squeeze onwards. see: http://wiki.debian.org/LSBInitScripts/DependencyBasedBoot You need to make the tinc init script into a LSB compliant script. Particularly, you need to add this kind of text at the top of the init file. --- BEGIN CUT --- #! /bin/sh # ### BEGIN INIT INFO # Provides: tinc # Required-Start: $remote_fs $network # Required-Stop: $remote_fs $network # Should-Start: $syslog $named # Should-Stop: $syslog # Default-Start: 2 3 4 5 # Default-Stop: 0 1 6 # Short-Description: Start tinc daemons # Description: Create a file $NETSFILE (/etc/tinc/nets.boot), # and put all the names of the networks in there. # These names must be valid directory names under # $TCONF (/etc/tinc). Lines starting with a # will be # ignored in this file. ### END INIT INFO --- END CUT --- When this has been inserted into the /etc/init.d/tinc file, you can then put tinc into the boot-sequence using insserv (which replaces update-rc.d) host# insserv tinc Hope this helps Graeme _______________________________________________ tinc mailing list [email protected] http://www.tinc-vpn.org/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/tinc
