Hello, We made some tests for a communication using SOCKET+MARSHAL (python) for the communication. It works fine but this is still just a proof of concept. Here are the result: * Size of the message for distant connections: 6.7 times smaller !!! * Speed improvement by request (communication + encoding + decoding of the msg): 2 to 8 times depending on the request (local testing). We tested this on reading 10000 partners, products and opening some views.
We need a few days of developpement (about 5), we'd like to find the funding of 1000 EUR to start this development. If you are interrested of paying part of this devel, write in this post. Once we have the 1000 EUR, we will develop it and release it in 5 days. The result will be new option at the client startup to be 3.5 times faster than the current XML-RPC method on an average of each requests. The XML-RPC will still be used: you will have the choice of the communication and the server will support both at the same time.
