FYI there has been a bug introduced in PostgreSQL 8.1.7 (security
update) for Debian / Ubuntu (and maybe others) which causes constraints
to fail even when the criteria is satisfied.

This manifests itself in many ways in Tiny causing misleading error
messages like:
"Table has type numeric, but query expects numeric"

There is some info here:
http://archives.postgresql.org/pgsql-bugs/2007-02/msg00037.php

An update to 8.1.8 solves this.
