If you've written a new module (e.g. airport) then it goes in its own
directory in addons.
Then (I) restart the server (it's easy for me to do and I haven't
bothered check whether that is necessary). It's not necessary to log out from a
running system, however.
Select Administration > Modules Management > Update modules list.
The new module should appear somewhere in Administration > Modules
Management. In form view you have an 'Install' button to click.
Select Administration > Modules Management > Apply Upgrades. Et voila!
