I'm not using XP for the server (except in one of my customers, not on 
production yet). However database backup-restore is something that although 
TinyERP provides an interface to do, it really relies on PostgreSQL. 

If you have made the default install under windows you can always use pgadmin 
to backup and restore your database. You can even create a small .bat file with 
pg_dump to perform regular backups of your database.

I would not dump TinyERP for that reason ;)
