Gerry, I hear the installed base argument, but for me, at this stage of terp development, development time is better spend on cleaning up tinyerp and, yes, better documentation. (Also, even if you have a hammer not everything is a nail ;)
And about scaling up horizontally: are you actually putting oltp loads on mysql proxy? As for scaling on a single machine, I think that either could be faster, depending on os and number of cores. Only a real test would show.
