Yep, checking the code it's trying to start a local socket connection.  The 
update completed successfully and it is just trying to start the server.  So I 
updated the client and then tried to connect via tcp and everything looks fine.

So, if you are running on separate machines and see this error the update is 
ok.  Just Ctrl-C the script (it takes a minute to exit) and you're ready to go.
