Premise: 1) rml->pdf reporting rocks. 2) I am ready to contribute (EUR) for this feature.
Use case: I wish to send a paper letter to a contact. I press a button on a form, the tinyerp-client pushes the address into an openoffice writer file containing the appropriate fields, the pre filled letter opens in openoffice, I enter the text of the letter and print it. I can't do this with the rml->pdf reports. It would be nice if the report engine worked directly with the sxw (or, better odt) and inserted the data in that file instead of transforming the rml, so that the resulting sxw (or odt) could be completed or modified by the user inside openoffice.org. And also exported to pdf. This solution would permit the use of the full customization power of openoffice.org for the sxw (or odt) template, freeing the users from the implicit format limits of rml (please, reread the premise if angry ;-).
