Compiere is a very nice piece of software. It's data model has been used by
many other derived projects like Adempiere, OpenXpertya or OpenBravo. However,
the inner workings of all of those are rather difficult. It takes a long time
to fully understand, install and use the software. I would say it's absolutely
impossible without the support from a partner even for simple installs.

TinyERP on the other side is very simple and well thought on the framework. It
is easier to understand, install, programm and use. You can choose partner
support if your needs are not handled by the default install but in simple
cases this is not even needed.

I don't see clear advantages on the Compiere side except, depending on the
requirements, better adaptation of the needs "by default". TinyERP is far more
simple (read: difficult to break or easy to repair...) but very capable of
handling any kind of business process.

Pedro
