May I propose you to branch our GTK client on launchpad, apply your
changes and then we will review and merge in the official release.

You can branch this one: lp:openobject-client with something like:
* bzr branch lp:openobject-client
lp:~openerp-community/openobject-client/trunk-client-webbrowser
