I have packaged some security enhancements for dealing with menu security. It includes these enhancements:
1. in Administration | Security | Define Access to Menu-Items: displays a Groups column in the Menues tree listing so that you can see where you have applied your menu security. 2. in Administration | Security | Define Access to Menu-Items: adds a Groups box on the Menues tree selection header so that you can search the menues according to the group assignments. This has been a huge help in figuring out our menu security. 3. includes a wizard that will assign the 'admin' group to all menues thereby creating the situation where admins will have complete access and all other groups will no access, except for what you have explicitly granted. This makes Tiny/Open security for menues operate very much like you would expect it to. I have posted the module here: http://greno-misc.googlecode.com/files/security-1.0.zip This is 'use at your own risk'. Please perform a backup before loading this security module. But it has been working fine for us without issue and after a few brave souls have tested it besides us I can load it to the modules repository.
