Yes, that is actually how I discovered OpenERP was from the announcement on the 
Magento site. I had decided against magento because it was slow but now it is 
going faster with the 1.1 release. However, I think I still like this other 
one, Live Cart (www.livecart.com) better than Magento, mainly because I like 
the backend admin area. And it's easy to template, and the developer is 
creating a bridge to Joomla too. But pretty much everything you said went over 
my head!

Can I create all my various accounts in the ERP? And I'm talking about daily 
accounting activities as well as the customer management. How do deposits work 
in this ERP? For quickbooks, we create sales receipts and then "make deposit" 
in a batch. I don't see anything at all like this in the ERP so this is why I 
wonder if it's even possible. Then there's the aspect of being able to import 
my quickbooks file into the ERP, which I"m guessing is not possible?
