In fact there are many alternatives. 

The proper way to do it would be to make a picking for  the dishwasher and an 
installation task. You could invoice on the sale order or the dishwasher on 
picking and the task upon completion... you know the business.

Since the "proper" way is too complicated and sometimes the same person who 
takes the dishwasher and makes the installation you could set the installation 
task as a consumable or stockable product and continue working on the pickings.
