Hi, sorry for cross posting this, but I tried the forum and basically
I got not much further, so I am trying this.

I installed the server first on an Ubuntu server with a client on
another Ubuntu desktop and got that working.

Then I wanted the server on a Windows 2003 and I followed the Wiki
install guide and almost got it working with PostgreSQL 8.2 and Tiny
4.2.2.

Problem is that when a client connects to the server, client is Ubuntu
Desktop and server is Windows 2003, it reports that no DB is found and
that I have to create a DB.
When I try to create a DB I get that it can not do this.

Then I found on the forums some tips about changing the pg_path
variable in the config file to the PostgreSQL server install directory
and I did this, I set the variable to the bin directory under
PostgreSQL.
The new problem now is that the Tiny client freezes when I set the
path correct I believe.
I also tried to use a local client on the Windows server, but I get
the same problem then.

So recap:

1. Install of server seems ok.
2. Client connects to server, but is unable to find any DB, including
the terp DB.
3. When I try to create a new one, it fails.
4. I change the pg_path variable in the config file on the server and
then the client does not start up, ie it freezes, same thing happens
when I try with a local client installed on the server.

Then I got a tip about the firewall on the server, but it was already
disabled so it should not be a problem in this instance, and the fact
that the client is able to connect to the server, but not see the terp
DB verifies this in my opinion.

And then I got around to believing that the problem is the Tiny Server
that has the problem and not client.
When using the PGAdmin application I can see that there is a terp DB
on the postgre server and the client connects to the server, but does
not get any info about a DB.

Also if I use pgsql I can access the terp DB from it, so is there
anyway I can debug or check what the server is doing, without having
to look at the code?

Could there be some privileges/rights problems between tiny server and
postgresql causing this?

Any help/ideas/clues very much appreciated.
