Well, 

I think that the new security model is a little bit cumbersome but needed 
specially on larger environments. Now, the creator of a new module should 
define the different groups and access restrictions on those groups by default. 
This will help managing permissions since the developer of the module should 
know what kind of access rights are sufficient and/or necesary to create/update 
any item. Doing it afterwards has always been a pain. 

Anyway... you just need to add your admin user to all the groups, and you're 
set. This is a good setup for development but I wouldn't recomend it in 
production.
