Your taxes are not properly configured. I don't know where you're posting from but you can take a look on how to configure them on several localizations.
Basicly you need to configure a tax for sales and purchases and (very important) the tax codes and signs for them. If you need some movements to be positive and some negative on the same tax code you need to set the -1 sign on it.
