@volvin, I think consumable product won't trigger any procurement order or computation when you sell them. On the contrary, stockable product might trigger procurement or even production orders according to minimum stock rules and stock levels. So consumable are here to make life simpler if you don't want to bother with stock levels for a given product reference.
