kalmen, Hi we did that extensively at Smile, at least for internal use and it works perfectly. Just correctly reference the db connection the server/bin/config.py file or by command line. Of course do this only f you have a veryu good network connection between the DB server and the OpenERP server because else you might suffer bad latency, never do that over the internet for instance, only a good local network at most.
