We plan to release new documentations for the v5.0 release, in less than 3 weeks (no guarantee)[/quote] I got that book, but I think I should warn anyone interested on it about several things I found after buying it, something that Tiny should warn (but I don't know why, they don't do it): 1. All images are in French. 2. There are some pages overlapped, so it's impossible to read those pages (those are only 2 or 3, I don't remember the exact number, but still, annoying, I bought a full book...) 3. There are some images missing (or at least, that's what It seems to happen, but I got no answer to my question about it, because I got a couple of blank pages where I understand I should get something else). 4. Forget of getting any kind of invoice for your purchase, other than the confirmation email of your purchase, If you ask for one you are ignored. 5. The Book index is empty, with a "To be completed" text. 6. Response time for your questions is... unacceptable. My first message was sent the same day I got the book, and I got the answer a month later. I answered that email with the missing images and overlapping text, and I'm still waiting for an answer since 6th of November. Said that, even knowing all that, I think I didn't waste my money because the lack of free/open documentation was covered by that book, however, I'm sure some people will not think in that way and anyway, I think we should be warned that the book is a "beta" version that will not be reviewed later nor updated ever (until the 5.0 release, which you will need to purchase again). Given all that, my company decided to move to Tryton because Tiny lost all our trust for handling a partner contract, when they do so bad with a simple book purchase. I really hope they fix it at some point, going open is not just about code release, but also about community and customers (seems like they are improving, but they still need to do more work). Also, ignoring new contributors or possible new partners is not the best way to be trusted. I know about the argument "They are too busy writing code, let's them work", but if I have a problem with a customer deployment and I need support from them, I cannot accept that kind of "support". I cannot talk about their response time for partner contracts, because we finally didn't contract it, but we don't want to expend 2000⬠just to see whether they have the same problem. Cheers. -------------------- m2f -------------------- -- http://www.openerp.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=28636#28636 -------------------- m2f --------------------
