I can see 3 things here: a. You are using windows. This isn't right. It may crash your apps, even if your apps are fine. It also runs too slow. b. Where is the timeout error? At the client? which one? c. What do you mean by 'database crashes' ? Does postgres stop? If yes, see a. again.. FYI I have pushed openerp + postgres quite much (using the sub-optimal gnucash module) and run 5min+ jobs there.
